As I look outside I already see the tips of the leaves changing around the studio, apples are falling from the trees and the squirrels have started to gather. Fall is that time of year when we can appreciate the crisp evenings and cool breeze, a reprieve from the hot dog days of summer, it's the time of year when snuggling up with a cozy quilt and hot beverage seems to cure the stresses of each day.
It's quilting season! The warm colors of nature bloom across the board in threads, wools, and fabrics, new patterns and projects speak to us in memories of childhood and the rearing of your own families. We gather to make new memories, continue traditions, care for those we love and retreat with friends in honor of our love and friendships. It's the kind of season that truly brings warmth and love to all we do.
We have been very busy here in the Studio, new fabrics, threads, patterns and products have been arriving weekly, and we continue to kit many new quilts and projects for your selection.
We are anticipating the arrival of Tilda's newest collection, Hometown in bolts, bundles and buttons, in October! We are very excited to share these beautiful fabrics with all of you.
FARMGIRL QUILTS WILL HOST ITS 6TH ANNUAL FALL RETREAT FROM SEPTEMBER 8TH THROUGH SEPTEMBER 14TH, THE STUDIO WILL BE CLOSED FROM SEPTEMBER 7TH-14TH.

This wool applique class is for all skill levels. This group will neet once a month and is divided up into groups according to your experience. Beginners will learn the basics of wool appliqué and work to complete a project of your choice. You will learn our tried and true fusing technique, cutting tips, basic stitches & learn about the use of various threads. We know once you learn the basics, you will fall in love with this medium and get lost in handwork! For our advanced members, you will learn more difficult stitches and explow display ideas. Choose from one of our many Wool Applique project kits at Farmgirl Quilts Studio.
Slow stitching is a mindful craft that involves using a needle and thread to create art, rather than to mend or make clothing. It's a way to relax, unleash creativity, and engage with the materials in a mindful way. Spend an evening unplugged and relaxed with some cool slow stitching. Enjoy some time working on an ongoing stitching project, start a new one or experience some slow stitching techniques, meant to soothe the soul and spark creativity. Slow stitching only, please select busy hands for all other stitching projects.
