| Requirements: | Basic Supplies: • Flower Pins. These pins lay flat; flat enough for a ruler to be over them and the ruler will still be flat against the fabric • Measuring Tape to determine the width of the panel • Small Safety pins - For a quilt using a 24” repeat you will need approximately 120 very small light weight safety pins (about 170 if you are using a large panel). Approximately 300 Straight pins for pinning rows together. • Rotary Cutter: A 45 or 60 rotary cutter with a new blade. • Cutting Mat: A large & a smaller cutting mat combined can be used to obtain 44” of cutting space. • Rulers: A 6” x 24” ruler for cutting the strips. A 12” or 14” Ruler with two 60 degree lines. The Star 60 tool (included in project kit) One 6” x 24” long for cutting the WOF Strips. • Sewing Machine & cord, needles, thread, pins, scissors. • Monopoly Thread for top stitching.** • Helpful: Strip Sticks or pressing bars are very helpful when pressing seams open. • Paper Plates: Non waxed paper plates are used to keep your strips and hexies organized. Design Wall: 2 flannel backed tablecloths that can be stitched together. You will design on your design fabric, pin your hexies to it and roll it up to take home to finish. |
