March 2022 Journal

Well, looking out the window I sure don't feel any Springtime coming this way. But inside where it is warm and colorful my heart is singing the birds song. March is here, this winter has flashed by, my mind and soul are ready for the warmth of the Sun, filling my bird feeders, watching the grass and flowers pop up for a new season. A season for growth, prosperity and happiness.

I welcome my friends back from their winter getaways, and the many new faces that will visit as the weather warms. Allow yourself to find peace in each day, find the time to reflect, and the time to create. Creation takes on a new look when your heart is full of warmth and joy. Be thankful, be peaceful and be loved.

See you all soon, join us for thankfulness, for the peace of friendship, and the love that we share when we gather. We hope to share with you the new fabrics, the beautiful wools and many more events offered throughout this next season.

CLOTHESLINE QUILTER CLASS

March 14 & 28, 10am-3pm

Looking for something to spark your creativity? This project features a cute quilter to be made in
any way you see fit.

Mix and match textiles, fibers, colors and techniques; and add your creativity. She even features
our beloved "Year of the Tomato" pincushion!

I will have many supply items available for your use, (included in your studio fee), you will need to
provide some too.

We will spend two sessions to complete this project.

INFORMATIONAL MEETING: COLLAGE QUILT CLASS

March 25th 1-2:30

Have you wanted to try making a collage quilt? Do the Laura Heine patterns make you weak in the
knees? Come on out to this free meeting and see what to expect in classes.

We will have three working sessions to complete your project over 3 to 4 months. We have over a
dozen patterns to choose from! You will learn collage basics, how to work with

fabric colors and patterns, and will never look at fabric the same way again.

These events are very fun, and a great change from working at your sewing machine.

TULIP ROW WOOL APPLIQUE CLASS

March 30th 10-4

Studio Fee $35 Pattern and Kit $35

Back by popular demand. Complete this beginner friendly pillow or wall piece, stitching wool
applique on linen.

We will build your project kit with your choice of a custom tulip color, specify your color upon
registration.

This day is all about you and your sewing. Machine or hand sewing welcome. Come and join in the fun. Bring your own project and supplies.

the Elemental Quilted Jacket Class

Wear your love on quilting on your sleeve–literally! The Elemental Coat uses quilted elements (or even a repurposed quilt!) to make a fashionable coat. Make it full-length, mid-length, or cropped. Choose a sleeve length. Add a hood. This is suitable for a beginner clothing sewist. Prerequisite: the Elemental Coat-Quilted Jacket Informational and Fitting Session This is a 2 day course The first day is focused on preparation including measurements, how to transfer the pattern, how to make adjustments and cutting out and prepping the coat, binding making. The second day is focused on assembling the coat The class includes the Quilted version of the coat
