April 2021 Journal
Spring is here in the U.P. it’s such a welcoming time. We begin to plan all our outdoor activities, gardening, picnics, and celebrations with friends and family.
We also look to our craft, to inspire and lead us down a new path. As makers, it’s time to try new techniques, work with new color palettes and pattern designs. With that in mind, I’d like to share some thoughts on using color. Let’s try some bright bold focus prints, mix in some smaller prints of the same or different hue’s and use some blenders to bridge the mix together.
This next month I’ll be spending some time in the studio sharing just that. How to bridge the gap between two wild and seemingly unrelated prints. Stay tuned for more details to come. I would also like to take some time to share with all of you some, changes you may have noticed here in my little neck of the woods. There has been some new activity at the studio. New faces are entering almost every day and with that a lot of new interest in classes, private lessons, and the many supplies that I offer here at the studio.
My busy hands and sew-in sessions are filling even before they are posted. To accommodate the new interest I have added a late afternoon busy hands, the second Wednesday of each month from 4-7pm. Busy hands is designed for hand workers to gather and stitch together, please register as you would for a class, so that there is room for all to attend.
New to the Studio Services is Private Quilting Instruction.
There are three new ladies taking advantage or working on a one to one basis for 3-4 hours on a specific quilt project of their choice. During their scheduled time I work with them from start to finish in the quilt making process. These hours are not posted, and the studio remains open to shoppers at this time. Clubs are currently full, and monthly classes are filling up fast. It’s a good problem to have, but do know, I am here for all of you and your project needs. If you have a specific need, please contact me directly, and we can discuss rates and availability.
New Facebook groups!
We have added two new Facebook groups, Farmgirl Quilters, and 906 Featherweight Club. Both are public groups, check them out and join today. Your comments, likes, and shares are greatly appreciated!
Join us today, tomorrow, or next month. There’s always something new to share!
